Their stuff does rock. My Dad has owned an amp and a pre-amp of theirs for about 25 years, and both still work and sound fabulous. Great longevity, and quality components along with a beefy price tag.

unless you got way more dough than me i'ld start with ebay or craigs list....
macs are way cool amps... possibly over engineered in fact... hard to beat them....

I am pretty sure the Naiant mics need a McIntosh pre-amp to sound good. This combo sounds so apple and sweet.
