lookin for a synth to give me certain popular groups "sounds"

I'm trying to get some of the sounds more along the lines like you would hear from DJ Sammy, DJ encore, Ian Van Dahl, and Lasgo.

Fat warm pads, "dancy" type of saws, if you know their music.

I was hoping a Roland JP-8000 would do the trick. I've wanted one for years, never played it, but from I'm told by friends, it should do the trick. I plan on buying it Friday anyway, but if it doesnt do the trick I'll buy something else that will. I'm getting the JP just cause I want it, and can get it at a good price, but do you think it'll do the trick? or what would give me the sounds I'm looking for in their music? I can get some of the pads from my JV-1080 and XP-30 by layering voices etc.

Plus on my xp-30, to round things out, I'm thinking about getting the hiphop and house expansion cards just to fill up the empty 2 slots. what do you think about that also?

What you describe you want you'll get from an access virus.

You can pick one up on ebay for $600-$900 depending on the model.

The JP8000 and JP8080 are pretty decent but in my opinion the virus synths outclass the JP's for what you want to achieve.

My words exactly. We have a JP8000 at school and it's cool, but not exactly what you want.
