LOL! :D

And you've gotta buy Sonar. You have tried the demo, and you know how much it rocks... :)

Oh yeah, I love the interface. I'm still going back and forth wondering if I should just buy Sonar with the plugins or to buy Sonar and then some Waves.

Have any of you compared waves renaissance or waves native package plugins to the Sonar XL plugins?

And of course there's that whole paying off what you owe now before you buy more. ;)

Got them both :) You can't compare any plugins with Waves... just leave it alone... it's God of plugins... and you'll deffinitely love it out of Timeworks. I bought SONAR 2 XL first last year, and still using my old Waves NPP 2 for long... 'til I got more funds to buy the Waves 3 last few months... It rocks !!! specially the Compressor / Limiter thingee... Awesome :)

So pretty much save the extra 100 on xl and put it towards waves?

I couldn't live without the lovely DR-008, bundled with Sonar. Forget about saving $$$, get the XL version, get the Waves-stuff and get broke.

I know I did... :D

Well, I just got screwed by the "one post per 60 seconds" rule, and lost the whole reply I wrote up.. well, that's why I'm a newbie (live and learn)

Anyhow.... I just listened to your track called "I can't help it", and it was pretty cool, definitely interesting, at first I thought I might hear Robert Smith singing and then it took a few twists and turns, I'm interested in hearing more of your new ideas. Keep me/us posted.

My stuff is still a bit half baked, sitting and simmering in sketch format ( http://www.musicinspires.us ), though I finally found a vocalist that has a dream voice (female), my tendencies kinda go the Cocteau Twins/Dead Can Dance/Floyd/film score route, though influences don't always say a whole lot about how we end up writing what we do!

And I also created my first ever video (and maybe my last as it was an obsessive/compulsive venture, but fun nonetheless). Anyhow, it's not bad considering I've never touched a video editor until 5 days ago. (it's a tribute to actress Katharine Hepburn)

I was gonna ask you about the Ozone as I want to get one myself, but I decided to start a seperate thread as I'd like to get your comments as well as others and to share it out too:

Thanks and happy/obsessive music creating!

I wouldn't call Renaisance Reverb CPU friendly. I have a 2.4 Gig machine and it still takes 25-30% of my puter power on a single mono track:eek:

But it does sound superb:)

It's funny how people actually think laptops are really worth a shit.

Sure.. they're pretty cool and all, but for real POWER.... you're gunna need a full set up.

I wouldn't trust a laptop for anything besides e'mail =)

MrStitch Come on now!

In fact I use to say the same thing till I learned from the best......
One reason that laptops are kind of a problem when recording is prossesor speed......If it says mobile it blows monkey nutts!!!!!
I have a non mobile P4 2.66ghz, mobile prossesors run slower.
Two You have to run on plug power when doing audio tracking, reason being that the computer runs slower on purpose when on battery power to save energy.
Three set up is important!!!! Strip and I mean strip the machine to the bone cause of all the sheeeot they but in premade laptops..... software we all dont need.
Mine runs super fine.
I can take my machine anyware too......
