Where I used to go to my friends house sing play through my 10 watt amp singing through a $20 Mic, and playing power chords.

I was going to but a mg100 Stack I mean "it's a stack it's gota be loud" we were going to travel the world, exploit our youth get a record deal be famous, then let the hype die down and do it all again.

I'm sitting in my room, playing country (chicken pickin) blues and thinking about thoes days.

Man were they fun.

We couldn't play for shit but they were fun

Are you smoking pot, crack, angel dust? You're 16! You can still do it, stop blabering and start working in your music. Old days gone? Hell no! I'm 24 and I'm just starting my home studio to record my music.

At 18 my life is OVER!

No really though age is not going to stop you at this time.... Just get some decent music and really focus in on what you're doing.

And get out there to kick some butt!

Hell.......it's just beginning dude. I started playing when I was about 11 years old. Now 33 I feel just as inspired as I did back then, only now I,m better (I think) Sure my goals have changed, but the music is still there.

hey, don't knock on this kid for remembering the good old days! You know, when we used to go down to the corner to slang some rock or get some hookers! Oh wait, that was yesterday :o . My bad.

Don't forget Tester's airplane glue!

Yeah..... the good old days!

16? I don't even remember 16. I do remember Testor's glue though...at least I think I do. Anyway, I'm knockin on 40's door, play guitar for money, play guitar for fun and play guitar as a hobby. Doesn't get any better than that! And I still ponder the days when I planned on traveling the world as a guitar god. Thank god that didn't happen :D When the hype dies down I think I'll go find some Testor's and start all over again ;)

LOL I laughed after I noticed his age after I read that post. I thought he was going to be like in his 40's or something. Are you like one of those people who like to think they are older for some reason? I had a friend who was like that. He was around 14 at the time and would talk like some old man. "Oh back in the day I did .....","my back's not like it used to be", "when you get to my age you'll understand(he is one month older than me)",.

awww shit im in the same boat!!! only 1 year!!!!
i better go pack my bags:D

Reality check! At 16 I had dreams of fame and fortune and being a famous rock star. At 25 I was getting a few breaks. Around 33 I realized the competition from the younger guys was getting stiffer. After 40 I noticed I was finally learning how to play. Now at past 50 I've stopped chasing the dream of stardom but I still have a dream... to pass along some of what I've learned and maybe help some 16 year old kid to live the dream I once chased.

Want to talk about memories of the good old days? I'd rather remember the good old nights. Yeah it was small amps, in dinky bars, playing for uncareing crowds... Wow! I just realized things haven"t changed that much, I still do it because I love the music, and believe it or not, it's still fun... even at my age.

Btw, Testors had nothing on Le Page, but those days are long gone too.

my 20s were my glory days in terms of going out and playing and getting a crowd going. but now i'm looking forward to getting some of that singer-songwriter stuff going again, starting with easing into it with some covers, then getting some quality originals down...

the fun never has to end. it's WAY too early to start getting nostalgic! 16? sheesh!

No you've got it wrong, I wasn't being an old man sitting infront of a fire drinking brandy remising about "the good old days" I was just saying thoes days are gone, I've improved alot, I'm just saying It was alot of fun discovering all that for the 1st time.

Allthough there is PLEANTY MORE to learn.

But yeah continue to have fun at my expence

No please

Oh and I'm joking about this as well just incase you don't know please note the use of smileys :D :D :D there for I am joking.

Please continue

oh. in that case i see where you're coming from. heck, just last year i heard Elvis through a Sennheiser Orpheus Electrostatic System ($12K!) and it was like I never heard Elvis before. Amazing! But once you've popped that cherry, where do go from there? Ah, to reminisce about your first eargasm...

Enjoy life now

Your only 16, that's roughly 14 years before you start growing hair where you don't want it.
