i am using logic 3.6 with studio issis soundcard and i am having heaps of trouble trying to record what ive laid out in the arrange window, i have whole songs ( some just audio, some midi) ready to put on to test cd so i can hear what they sound like through different systems but i cant work out how to record them, ive tried different configs but my recordings just dont work. how do i transfer the whole song to cd! help!!!

On the master 1-2 buss there is a Bounce button. Hit that and it will prompt you for settings. It will play the song and record everything that is assigned to output 1-2.

Record in 16bit for conversion to CD. If you have a Dithering plugin that will help preserve the dynamic range when going from 24 to 16bit.

thanks tex, ill give that a try before my head explodes!
if i can ask u another question, ive just got back to my computer
loaded up a song and now i can only hear audio and no midi sound is coming out! ive checked all the things i can think of, this is kind of strange as i was using last night and it was fine, i havent made any adjustments(well not that i no of!) any ideas?
thanks for your time.

Maybe a dumb answer

but here goes... Sometimes when I boot my computer, I've noticed that somehow it doesn't initialize my midi interface (green lights sparkling and such). I then restart and it does. I also had logic somehow reset my midi info through OMS once and screwed up my ports so I couldn't hear midi either. Just a thought. Good luck.

Good ideas from Mkatz. I haven't really gotten into midi in Logic very deeply. I've been having enough trouble just learning the audio functions ;)
