aarggh am going to throw my pc out..okay am way too hot and frustrated now..why wont this god damn forum upload a simple picture :A and aah right yeah i think ive got you now..when i click it it just goes gray and deselects

Look along the top of the eq. There are 8 squares, 6 of them lit up blue?

The extreme right hand blue one is set for shelf. If you click it it will eventually change to notch, like the others.

Actually, the Logic EQ works a little differently. Clicking it will bypass it, not change it to notch. To get a high-end notch you just have to use the furthest right notch band.

Also, to Master: I'd get rid of that low end shelf. In fact, I'd enable the furthest left band and pull it down until you are cutting up to around 100 Hz (give or take). You generally want to get rid of the low end on tracks that aren't bass instruments.

There's not much more to say I'm afraid, Master.
It's very much a case of just playing around with it until you hear what you like.

The only real advice I can give is to turn the wet amount up high so you can really hear what kind of verb you're making,
then when you get what you like, bring the wet amount waaaay back down again.

Remember, more reverb makes a sound less focussed.
Same applies for a wide stereo reverb.

I'd probably mix rap vocals straight down the middle.

Yep, and as a starting point for you Master, I'd recommend the PlatinumVerb plugin and the Echo plugin (come stock with Logic) for your reverb/delay.

thanks..ive played around with it loads man just cant get it to soun right :( dunno what am doing wrong

Well, have you fixed up the eq like way said? Lose the high shelf and low shelf; Instead cut the bass and just use a notch for the high end.

If you eq is badly done, then the reverb will never sound right because it is accentuating frequencies that you don't want to even hear.

The reverb I use actually has a built in eq. It only effects the reverb though.
If i cut out the bass in my verb plug, it won't effect my raw track; It just wont reverberate the bass.

If you don't have that, you might consider putting your reverb on a bus with an eq before it.

I'm afraid I can't tell you how to do that though, because I don't know logic.

is this right?

Look at it dude. Now you're boosting the bass from 100hz down and cutting the highs from 10k up.

That's almost the exact opposite of what I did. :)

There's no right or wrong. Only what sounds good to you, but here's my eq for reference.

Notice the low cut starts higher, because your last recording seemed bassier to me.

Ah, thank you. :)

Does that logic eq have the realtime graphic going on during playback?

I can't decide if I'd like that or not.

Yeah, it's switchable with the "Analyzer" button. Post or pre EQ options too.

guitar thanks alot!! thts helped me now..i realised that..ill apply those now..see if it helps..

guys you know on platinumverb on logic should i be clicking mono or mono to stereo?

Try both and see what you like. The difference is that Mono mode will keep the reverb centered in the middle of your speakers. Mono to Stereo mode will simulate a stereo space and will make the reverb sound bigger by spreading it across each of your speakers differently.
