I am trying to use Logic platinum 5.2 (for the first time) but i cannot get any sound at all.
It wont record it wont even play the demo files.
It is running but NO SOUND.
All my other programs run ........no sound problems at all.
Am i missing something i have to enable in Logic?

First of all, which version, PC or Mac ?
Second, What soundcard ?
Did you go to the driver page setup within Logic and assign the right drivers in the flip down menu's ? You have to manually selec t the appropriate drivers for the card you have amongst other setup issues.

goto

preferences \ audio hardware & drivers

choose a driver for pc av and check the pc av box .. relaunch logic and you'll be fine

Check the box for PC/AV only. Hold your mouse over the driver box and right click on it. This should show the current card you have in a flip down menu. Highlight it. Uncheck any and all other driver boxes such as ASIO, etc..

There is no sroll down menu at all........
Should i uninstall reinstall and try again?

try this..

in logic audio folder there's a executable

easimme.exe

run it and check if there's a soundcard .. try rescan or smth.
after that if there's anything try the 'no driver' beside pc av dropdown menu..

..or just reinstall and remembr to check only pc av in preferences
other checkboxes are unchecked by default

hehe .. reminds me the time i was first launching logic audio..
after 2 days of confusion and hard brain work .. i got finally a sound out of it :))

Once you get it going, I can assure you Logic is a great and stable program.
It sounds like Logic cannot find the card in your system because it should have showed up in the flipdown. What is the driver this card is using ? MME, ASIO or other

It has 2 listed
EASI Direct sound and EASI MME

Dont sound too good does it lol

I cant look right now because my Logic is on my other boot, but perhaps you need to check the box for MME or EASI rather than PC/AV and then search for the card in the flipdown

i uninstalled and reinstalled
chose mme direct sound and theres sound coming through now
AT LAST!!!!

By the way
what is easi direct or easi mme ?

That is all the options i have there.
