good day folks. this is quite embarrassing but i really need to ask these questions. i would gladly appreciate your help

1. every time i open a new audio track the input and output says in-1 out-2. i'm sorry but i'm really just a beginner and have been so used to garageband which assigns channels automatically at the start. i just want to know what those inputs and outputs refer to.

2. if i use my fast track as an input for vocal mic, can you help me understand how to set it up? or does the mac automatically route me in?

1. Those inputs and outputs refer to the input and output channel numbers on your interface. For example, if you plug a mic into channel 1 on your interface, the input would be "Input 1" (or something of that nature). The output on most interfaces tends to be "Stereo Output," however, this could change if you are using outputs on your interface other than 1 and 2.

2. You will need to first select your Fast Track as the input device for Logic (if it is not already set). In Logic, press the key combination "command" + "comma (,)" on your keyboard to open the preferences window. In the preferences window go to the "Audio" tab. Inside of the "Audio" tab, go to the "Devices" tab. Inside of the "Devices" tab, go to the "Core Audio" tab. Under the "Device" drop-down menu, select your Fast Track. Now that your have your input device set, all you have to do is set the Fast Track channel number for each track you create (refer to the first part of this post).
