Loadbox Direct out / Amp FX out clips at instrument level - Need advice!

So, I messed around with the sound a bit more today, and well - I got so mad I started all over from scratch, or well.. actually not, but cleared the plugin list in reaper, and pulled in lePou again, then using a combination of a few impulses to shape the sound. There is next to no EQ except for a HP/LP and no compression either - I do feel it lacks a little body around 300-500hz, but not sure.. Can't really decide whether it's an improvement of the old one or not... but I think it is.

Tried to load one more impulse with a bit of low-mid thump - I may have to LP filter it a bit, dunno..

This one definitely my fav so far.

As for worrying if it needs to be squashed once it gets in the mix, well that's something you can always add once you have it in the mix. Better to do too little and add more, than add too much and not being able to remove it.
