Hi!
I´m thinking of buying a sturdy condenser mic designed especially for live use, the new and higly acclaimed Neumann KMS105 (about 350$).
While recording in my home studio with close miking technique (adding TC Electronic quality reverb later on), what should stop me from using this microphone instead of a more traditional one, like the AKG C414 (700$)?
I mean, they are both condenser mikes, and if the acoustic surroundings in the studio isn´t perfect (because of loud computer fans, etc), who could tell the difference with the vocals in the mix anyway?
Of course, I would plug the mike into a nice preamp (the SPL Channel One, 1000$), which hopefully would help preserv a good signal path into my harddisk recording system.
Thankful for answers
