Listening to multi programs

I am using Cubase SE for recording and Mixcraft Beats for drums. Why am I not able to listen to both programs at the same time? I want to listen to the guitar part I recorded while in the drum program tweaking the drums. Do I need a special audio card or something?
I am recording on an HP laptop thru an M-audio mobile pre interface.

im pretty sure its because the audio card can only handle one thing at the time...just like when i use protools i cant hear itunes......i dont bug me but if that bugs you alot i guess just look for something that can handle two things at the same time...but since you have a laptop there's not much to do...i guess..i dont know much about laptops...my dad is a video editor and he has two audio cards installed in his computer so he can run two programs that require the auido card at the same time...

Or you can use a VSTi sampler inside Cubase, such as Battery, BFD, etc. (I especially like the etc).
