linking yamaha mixer

just bought an old yamaha 1202 mixer. How can I link it to my 424mk porta to use the extra channels to record?

Take the main outs of the mixer and connect it to one or two inputs on the 424.

do I go into one of the channels 1 thru 6 or is there a way to go into the rca jacks on the tascam?

If you can record the RCA inputs then sure. I'm not that familliar with your recorder. Do you have a manual? Since you only have 4 tracks to record on there aren't really a lot of options here.
