linein rec problems...

When I try to record anything through the line in on my soundcard, it will play through my speakers, but not actually record. This happens with EVERY program I've used. Also, after you select record, nothing can be heard in the speakers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

For some odd reason it seems that many consumer sound cards get set up with the Line In disabled for recording by default.

i didnt follow the link. but, there is a hidden set of RECORDING faders on your win system, you have to turn up, not just the play back ones.
it's like under voume/options/properties/record volume

try that
