Hi,
I currently record using a Fostex R8 through a Fostex 812 mixer. I'm pretty happy with the results I get from it but I do want to upgrade to 16 tracks in the near future (looking at a G16). The only thing that annoys me about the 812 really is the fact that the L/R bus and busses 7/8 are the same but apart from that, I find it a really good mixer to work with. I've looked at upgrading to a soundtracs 24 channel console but they're all rather expensive and often collection only from too far away. So, a much cheaper option would seem to be to buy another Fostex 812 (they seems to go frequently between £100 and £200) and link the two together. The desk has buss and auxiliary out and ins etc. so it seems possible to link the two and have them functioning as one desk. Has anyone done this or something similar and would you recommend it as a good alternative to buying a bigger desk.

Cheers
James

I'm doing that with a few old Tascam mixers and a porta. They all have "sub in" or "buss in" jacks to plug another submixer into. The M-06 has a mono "effect sub in" rather than stereo "buss in", which I'm guessing means the submixer gets routed to the effects send on the M-06. I can't find a manual for it to confirm this.
