Ok so I plugged it in and the light on the cable is just flashing. I am getting a signal but it is very weak. It came with a driver but my MacBook can't take mini discs. It claims the driver is only for certain Windows Systems anyway. Whats up?

In Application->Utilities, there's a little program called Audio/Midi setup or something like that -- with that, you should be able to tweak the settings of the lightsnake some - if yours is like mine, it announces itself as headphones or something, so that's what you'll see in the software panel. You should have a choice of whether to use the clock on the device or one on the computer (like built-in input or something) -- try the one on the device, if it's not already selected and see if that helps. Otherwise, try one of the other clock settings.

thank you man! I'll try that out tonight when i can plug everything up! This forum is pretty sweet.

Umm.

Hello, I just bought lightsnake awhile ago, it worked fine when I found a tutorial the first time, but now when I plug it in after it got back from the shop, it won't recognize it as giving ay input. I looked in the midi settings, but it will only let me adjust the speakers? on this device. the company that makes this device is delightfully absent of any help or drivers or people even when you call.
Hopefully you can help,
Thanks,

I got one of these at the Goodwill for $8.00, but it pretty well sucks.

The company that distributes these gave a lot of people the runaround when the first issue were noisy and didn't work very well. They did finally correct the problem, but then wanted to make people jump through hoops to exchange the defective units.

Mine's in the bottom of a drawer since I bought a normal USB interface.
