Level mismatch ...

Just a simple question here. I’m using a Lexicon MPX1 as an external reverb for my DAW. I have a Delta66 soundcard. I’m using outputs 3-4 of the Delta to the Lexicon and then back into the inputs 3-4 of the Delta. I’m using high-quality ¼ TRS balanced cables to get +4dB level. The thing is that when the signal gets back to the Delta i’m loosing about 15dB of gain. I must specify i also made sure the switch on the back of the MPX1 is positioned to “+4 dB”. So in order to match the levels at both inputs and outputs, i have to set the Delta66 input level to “-10dB ” which is “semi-pro”… The MPX1 documentation specifies both ¼ and XLR connectors accepts balanced signals… so… is there something i don’t understand? Are there in/out levels you need to set in the MPX software? On my 500, many of the programs are set to 50-60% output level from the factory. You may want to look at the global parameter settings as well.

I am under the Impression if your Effect Unit is putting out a +4db Level you Must also have your Delta set up with the +4db setting not the -10db setting as you will loose 14db of Gain which is what You say is the Problem so if you set the Delta to the +4db setting your problem should hopefully be Solved....

I checked the internal effect and global settings they are all set to 100%. Also note thei i'm obviously doing these tests with the effect set to "bypass". Regarding the setting in the Delta, i know i should put the setting to "+4" at the effect return but doing so i loose 15dB of gain... then when i switch back to -10 then the level raises. Here's the chain :

Delta Out 3-4 (+4) to MPX1 In (+4) / MPX1 Out (+4) to Delta in 3-4 (+4) = loss of 15 dB... - in cubase the send (out 3-4 to MPX) shows 0dB (full gain) but the return (in 3-4 from MPX) shows -15dB

.... Then if i switch back the delta input to -10 :

Delta Out 3-4 (+4) to MPX1 In (+4) / MPX1 Out (+4) to Delta in 3-4 (-10) = I have the exact same level to to both Inputs/Outpurs in Cubase...

Really ... i don't understand!!!
