My Mapex set
Nice kit, I like it!

With layouts, it's all about personal comfort. I couldn't imagine having the snare so far to the left, but if it works for you then more power to ya!

EDITED TO ADD: The turtle ROCKS!!!!!!

I'm not much of a drummer or musician... I dont do a lot of tom fills :( :(

People should realize that the flater your toms are the nicer sound they will give. Well I guess it is time for my marimba.

People shoud learn how to set up drums correctly and tune them! It's stupid how many drummers can tune or have the kits set up with toms either at 90degres or with a 10" gap in between them.

Then they say "it's what i find comfortable"! no it's not. You just have never played another setup so you have no idea if ones more comfotable.

jheez! well that's my rant over with.

That looks a lot like the M Birch set I bought recently. Since my studio is undergoing a remodel, I haven't set them up yet.

How do you like them?

I like them a lot. I have palyed around on a lot of kits and they sound damn good. I replaced the heads with Aquarian Studio-X. I had Evans Hydraulics on for awhile but could not get the 10in tom to sound right.

Why not just have an upright bass drum and then you could just truely kick it with your foot no need for a pedal, and put the toms on a 45 angle and lay down and play them?!

Here´s my 89' Rockstar....huuuuuuge toms.........

Here's my $75 special, I'm just gonna use it to mess around on, I still need to get a hiHat stand and cymbals, although the 16" AAX dark crash I got was worth the 75 itself. Sorry for the crappy quality picture
