Thanks for the listen, and compliment. If I knew what I played, it would be nice, but I just banged out some notes. You on the other hand, turned a cheezy yamaha demo into semiclassical/newwave/baroque mindbender. I guess we are at the oposite ends of this thing. I couldn't believe how you changed that into a song. If my mind worked like yours, I'd be dangerous. :p

Good, so lets start arguing. I'm thinking it's between Finster, Lawler, and Beagle. That should be painfully obvious at this point.
 
I suppose we could set up a new thread with the eight submissions and post a poll that expires after a week or something.
 
I think the winners should now perform for us all, by playing a whole song, together, over the entire keyboard demo. I for one, would actually love to hear this.

And thanks all, it was great fun, and was amazed at the finished products. Very entertaining.

I think apl's got a good idea here. But no time limit. I want to be immortalized by having the thread constantly at the top of the mp3 mixing forum's page as people continue to cast votes 5 yrs from now.

This thread answered a question I had when I first started posting to the HR BBS a few months ago. What I had wondered was whether or not musicians from different stylistic backgrounds had more in common than what separated us. Got my answer. Glad I entered the Yamaha contest. Still wanna win though.

Nooo! I made only one rule, and that was winner decided by arguing, not a poll!

Well, if we can't have a poll, maybe we can still achieve immortality with an argument thread. I can see it now... we change the title to, "Best guitar contest under $100". The thread would come up in 99% of all searches done. To be complete though, we'd have to have some Chinese entries.
