Thanks, Chris. I love music, and especially guitar driven music. Unfortunately, I never learned how to play properly, so am actually trying to learn a bit now. I never solo, and very seldom play acoustic. So, I fugure, what better time than now. I'm actually here so I can listen to everyone else, but since Rokket offered this up, and it sounded so cool, I gave it a shot. Lots of fun interacting with this crowd. I hope at least double the people try this one, just so I have more to listen to. :D

Thanks, Rokket. Lots of fuzzy notes, but a 1 minute solo is long for some of us. And I didn't burn any picks up. ( my wifes guitar, and her pick. I had better not.) Cool tune. I tried about 4 electric ones, and they sucked ass. Since I was getting my wifes guitar out, I tried one shot on it, and you got it. It just fit better with my limited ability. :cool:

I did a quick run at it at 1:00 am and now that I listen this morning I hear what you’re talking about.
It's a Fleetwood Mac tune with a Dire Straits solo. lol
Good God man am I showing my age?!

It's a blast to hear what a group of guitarist can come up with as a solo on the same tune. Definitely a great learning experience to hear the different ideas and perspectives.

gibson, you sound like Knoppfler playing flamenco. Also very nice.

I'm really enjoying listening to these. What's the song that this progression reminds me of? Is it Sultans of Swing?

Dogman, I liked the pentatonic Am licks, and keeping it in the lower half of the gtr's range gives it a masculine tone that fits the backing’s style especially when the low E comes in in the middle. There's a 16th note lick at :42 that's cool and I like the bit of chromaticism in the last phrase.

Gibson, that's some nice phrase construction with building and then easing of intensity at the end. I like the sudden contrast in range in the first phrase that happens twice, and the way you develop the same element later. Also like the contrasting melody in the middle section at :35. The sonority reminds me of Knopfler's and Chet Atkins' Neck and Neck album.

Chris, I love the figure leading into the 2nd phrase at :18 and the way that whole phrase is built up in intesity from the 1st. The recapitulation at :51 is a crafty variation of the opening phrase with an ending on the 5th of the scale that leaves off with the subtle feel that the piece is a prelude for something coming next. So it looks, analytically speaking, like you should do another to add to it. Heh-heh. Seriously, you've got incredible articulation in the playing and just wall-to-wall interesting musical ideas.

Thanks, apl. Much appreciated. Now, I'd like you to post one. WE need more. More I say. And I also think you need to finish Under Construction. It's a good tune, and could use some vocals, you know? After you do a solo for this thing, get the lead out and finish the song. :D

Thanks Tim. I actually stayed a bit lower, as I don't play acoustic very well, and when I did move up on the neck, REAL BAD SOUNDS. Not good. It was fun, and the tune was something I was able to play with, at least a little.
