Travis,

Now I really am hesitant to post because I know you'll be greatly dissapointed.

I found the addendum to my DPS manual and discovered that you can load a wav file into the machine but it seems like this can only be done if the source was DOS formatted. Aside from being a guitar newb, I am also tech challenged and not sure what DOs format means.

Anyway, I've tried several times and have been unable to load the wav file from my CD/RW. I'm guessing this is not DOS formatted?

Will try the lo-fi way here in a few minutes.

Sage, look in your manual, and see if DOS format means you have to put the cd-r in the Akai, and format it to it's own specs, and then maybe you can load a wav file from your pc. Don't know, never having used that recorder, but it should be fairly straight forward. Just got to find the proper sequence. And don't worry about anyone being dissapointed in your solo. As Travis stated, Fun is it. Where else do you get to hear several different solos over the same rythum track? Especially everything from straight ahead rock, to Tims classical soundscape.

Ah, very nice looking dog Tim.

Thanks Dogman, she was a pound puppy, or actually a pound adolescent as we adopted her at a year and a half. And she usually sits at my feet when I record, so really should have been in my studio pics.

BTW your dog looked very smart. How many dogs do you have?

Tim

Listen Sage97, we're gonna keep posting dog pictures until you post your solo, so JUST DO IT! (yelled in Jack Bauer's voice from 24)

Sage, why don't you save the file and then go from your soundcard into your recorder??? I'm assuming you have at least two tracks to your recorder... That should work and if it doesn't you could get one of those free multitrack recorder programs and use it... I even got decent results in the low-tech days of SB Live... Give it a shot!

Tim, we have four, all unwanted by someone else, and we took them in. Best thing we ever did. :D
Here is all of them.

Dogs are studio essentials

IMO a good dog in the studio adds more than a better pre, and certainly more than a lava lamp. So after you've posted your Rumble gear pics, dogs should logically come next.

Back from Sunday morning activities.

Brett, I have no earthly idea how to do what you recommended. What can I say? I'm an idiot when it comes to stuff like this.

I've recorded the background track already and will start recording my virtuoso solo in a few minutes. Watch out everyone.

Sweet playing. You've got good tone and no string noise to be spoken of. Nice playing.

Sorry for the delay. I promised my 7 year old that I'd spend time with him so we watched a movie and hung out at a book store. I'm a widower and single fatherhood is a full time job.

Anyway, here is my quick take on this rumble. I call it "lo-fi" down at the very bottom.

Dislcaimer: I've only had two 6 minute visits with my son's guitar teacher who tried to teach me scales as quickly as she can. Otherwise, everything is by ear with little bits and pieces I learned from my friends back in high school. Everything has amateur written all over the place so try not to laugh too loud. :)

PS. You all have great looking pets!

Very nice tone and phrasing. That was some pretty playing my friend. See, you got all worked up, and ended up doing something cool. Now, the next one will be easy, right?

Good job.
