Let me know what you think of my new song

The first one:

I kept waiting for the song to start, it sounds like a long intro to nothing. Its pleasant enough but goes nowhere.

The second:

Same thing really. I dont quite get it, I keep waiting for something to happen but nothing does. Sound quality is fine, just needs developed.
 
Some people just can't appreciate this spacey kind of stuff.
I liked February 28th a lot. It has a nice feel to it and is recorded well.
January 2nd stirred some emotion inside me. It reminded me heavily of Jon Brion's stuff. It could be a bit longer and have a change in progression, but you recorded it how you wanted it to sound, so it's perfect the way it is.
Keep it up.
 
thanks for the input. people keep saying like they wait for my songs to "go somewhere" but i dont plan on singing in any of these. its totally possible to lay lyrics all over the place but sorry if that dissappoints you. anyway, thanks for the comments.
 
Good stuff.

I like your songs. I hear a lot of different influences, and styles here. Reminds me of early Death Cab for Cutie, Explosions in the Sky, or Pedro the Lion. I could go on through a list, but this music still sounds like its coming from somewhere origional, so thats all that matters. Myspace tends to be a bitch to get working correctly, but once it finally played the songs, I enjoyed them. I have the same problems every time I listen to anything on there. I use it the same way you do though so I understand how great of a platform to put your music on, it is. You may not wish to add any vocals, but I think it would add a lot to them. Its still good the way it is, but I say experiment with something. I hear Badly Drawn Boy-style vocals all over this in my head. Keep posting those songs, I'll check back often.
