Singing is good - lots of different voices and effects. I'd love to hear a studio track. PM me with details if you have em

Thanks! We have just recorded an EP, with the old songs. They are kinda different(I joined the band after they wrote them), but it's still my voice. I'll post some songs when they are out! Gonna take a while before this one gets recorded ;) Hehe.

That EP is really really great! If you are selling post a link in the Marketing section :-)

Thank you! We are not, its all free :) Contact me if you want me to send it to you. Dunno if you can download it from soundcloud atm.

Greetings!

I don't want to make a new thread, so I'm just gonna use this!
I have now moved on from "LesDynamic", as the band is done and finished(just one more recording and one gig left), and my new solo-project is taking form, slowly.

Here is the first song from the WIP-album Pandemic Masquerade. This is a demo, recorded for me so I can hear the song with "full band", without having a band. I've just recorded it at home, and I'm not the most skilled in recording. There is off-pitch vocals, and off-click guitars and the drums is bad, but seeing it is a demo, I just wanted to get the idea of the song down.

I would love honest feedback.

Good stuff all around man. Just saw this thread and listened to all of your music. Good stuff.

I understand what demo means so not much to comment on until you get it recorded good.

Look forward to hearing the final product. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Thank you guys!

Do you have any thoughts on what I should improve in the next recording of the song?

This is the first song in a soloalbum-project I have, called Pandemic Masquerade. There will be 6-8 songs probably. When I get demo's of the other songs recorded(I have to write them first as well) I'll post em' here. Or I might start a designated Pandemic Masquerade-topic.. We'll see!

Appreciate the kind words!

Mostly just the demo drums are tough to listen to. The acoustic guitar is also very bright. Are you boosting high frequencies? Don't do that. :)

What software are you using here?

The drums is a miditrack from guitarpro, with studio one's drum sounds... I've bought Ez drummer, but haven't used it in this song. And yes, I'm probably boosting high frequencies.. Will check in to that, thanks for the tip!

Anytime man.

I see that boosting of high frequencies all the time from people I mix tracks for. I used to do it as well when I first started. Just a note, in most situations, EQ boost is not a good idea. Much better results from cutting the frequencies you do not want. EQ boosts tend to get harsh really quickly. This is not always the case and there are times that it is needed, but never a first option IMO.

Getting the sound right at the source is best. Good monitors and room treatment will help with that.

I will keep that in mind!
The acoustic guitar is recorded straight into the soundcard. I have a Babicz Identity Dreadnought, with a L.R Baggs system in it. At home I get much better sound out of it that way, than micing it up! Gotta get a new, better mic for vocals though, and when I do that, I will also think about room treatment!

I always find it tough to get good acoustic tone direct into interface. It works live, but almost never good for recording. Just my experience tho, and have no experience with your guitar.

Do you also do the 'death metal' type vocals? Or is that another member of your band? I only ask as you may want to use a couple different microphones for each. Either way, I have found that the SM7b works for me with powerful male singers.

I did that too, until I bought this guitar. For homerecording, it is more than enough! It has a piezo pickup and a "element" pickup which you can blend. A lot of variety in sound. You shoiuld check out L.R Baggs, I am really impressed with the sounds I get, recording and live.

I do the growls, yes. I've heard the SM7b is good for that, but it is very expensive.. I will probably end up buying a Sontronics STC-2/3x at first, I sing more clean these days than growls anyway. There will be growls in this project though, so I might borrow the SM7b from a friend.

I keep working on getting the best sound on everything from the source, but it is hard to get everything right. I'm not very good at mixing either, I find it confusing a lot of it.

Wow, while this is not my style of music I think you did great, good luck in the future.
