Compared to what?
What are the mechanical and physical properties related to attack delay relationships in sound waves in timber?
How is this measured?
What is the common expression for phenomena of those measured results?
What other factors influence the attack delay relationship of sound waves in timber?
Describe the modulus that is associated with those expressions?
Show your workings?

Simple, the increased mass acts to dampen any physical vibrations in the wood, maintaining the original energy in the string. Take a string and suspend it between two massive concrete blocks. Pluck the string, what do you hear? Not much, how long does it sustain? A very long time. You can try to smoke screen this whole topic with your fancy words and jargon, but what I say is the truth, even if it is generalized.

Complete bollocks. Mass alone has jack shit to do with damping or sustain (whatever that is) Hint : Mercury has greater mass than maple but will not reflect a single sound wave through or back up a string.

Of course you wouldn't use mercury, please don't try to use strawman arguments, we are talking about solids, typically tonewoods.

PS What if the mercury was in its solid state, I know at -37.89 °F it would be hard to build such an instrument, but how would that compare to maple?
