I drained the caps last week, but I'll post up pics and talk about it like I'm doing it right now.

You do seem to sit around here all day.
That's because all the things I'm doing today were finished last week..![]()
Not exactly like a dolls eyes but from the picture I see a blemish. Specifically. What dark part are you are referring to? I think black is worse than gold, like the black eyes of a shark, lifeless.

Gibson and ALL other guitar manufacturers and makers use cosmetically inferior timber on solid colour guitars. You'd be very fortunate to find a nice looking piece under a solid colour finish.

Right and I was fortunate.
Well since you asked. I think we can see now why Gibson culled that particular guitar to be a gold top. That big dark part of the wood grain looks like the eye of Jupiter. Personally, I’d paint it black.
Cosmetically inferior timber seemed to work for these fellas:

Not to mention the grey iron stains and the fact that it aint bookmatched. All Gibson no no's and what will ultimately give this away as refinish and drop the value to a fraction of what it was.
So now we are creating a signature series gibson look-a-like. Which is it VP? Which famous signature player had a 12 string Goltop stripped and refinished and then Gibson made a replica..?
You are truly truly clueless.
Mind you it will end up being limited edition. Totly one of kind...![]()
Nice try at trying to turn this into a failure, it has been nothing but a success. Sorry to burst your bubble again.
If you mean take a perfectly good guitar and cut the value in half, yeh it's been a total triumph.
Now all you need to do is find a Victory Pete fan to buy his famous refinished Goldtop 12 string that has gone down in rock n roll history. I can see them climbing the walls to get at that one...![]()
