im a lefty who plays right handed and it works out fine for me. chords came easy when i was first learning and now i have lots of control over vibrato and stuff. my right hand had to catch up to my left, though. it took awhile to become a decent rythym player.

I'm not left handed myself but I know quite a few who play the guitar. Most have to adapt to playing right handed-what problems have you encountered etc.

All left handers put your hands up and be counted!!!!Just out of interest.

I'm right handed, but I leared to play left handed so I would look cooler...and so no one would ask to borrow my axe. :D
Jus kiddin'

Im a south paw and I play right handed. When I first started playing, a shop owner gave me some good advice: lean to play right handed if you can, so you can borrow your buddy's guitar and to make it easier to find guitars to buy. I didn't have any problems since I didn't now anything but I would have big problems tring to learn left handed now..

I've always playes right-handed. Thats just how I was shown on a little guitar when I was young. During my metal phase I tried for a day to learn to play lefty thinking that my sloppiness had to do with that. Nope. I'm just a sloppy player.

Sorry to dig this up but is this the only fuckin' left handers we ahve on the sight, you must be fuckin kiddin.

I play baseball, basketball, bowl, throw, fight, left handed. Started to write left handed but the nuns put a stop to that (50's)
I play guitar, shoot pool, write, play drums,
and masturbate right handed. Which am I? no
wonder I am so *&*(&^(^ up.

My lefty girl friend recently decided to take up base. She is originaly a horn player and always played right handed, so she felt she should pursue a right handed instrument.
I personally think the lefty axes are a gimic. I have yet to see a left handed piano, and sir paul has no trouble playing the keys.
I do believe your dominant side dictat your strengths.

Looks like im the only left hander on the site that has always played left handed and still plays left handed and kIcKs AsS :D

Tony the aussie idiot

Left hander hear, but I also play guitar right handed, as well as golf right handed, bat right handed, but throw and write left handed. Go figure

Left-handed all the way here...my folks bought me a right-handed Univox base for my 16th birthday (a long time ago!) and I switched it over to left-handed about a week later. Just couldn't play it righty.

It's great being/playing lefty, especially when your band does a lot of Beatle covers.

Still waiting for the day that I can afford a Hofner Violin model!

Im left handed too, and im from Chile.
Being left handed is very expensive when
you live so far from guitars manufacturers.
Obviusly I play left handed guitars, but here you yust can find crappy guitars like
chineese squiers strats fo about 600 US$. So when I travell to USA or Europe I buy my guitars.
Also you know all the effects pedals are thinked to be in a chain from right to left
but when the but of your guitar is on the left side you can make a big mess with the cables...
Also Im a guitar teacher, but being lefty is quite good because I say to my students that im only a mirror of them and it works great!

I'm another left hander who learnt to play right handed. I think i only did it because in my pre teen years i was so despirate to start playing that i took the first guitar i could afford. Since then i have started doing other things right handed, which was purly because they felt more comfortable. So i think that makes me amby dexterous.

Cheers:)

Add one more lefty the the list. All of my guitars are left-handed except one.Music stores usually have to order left hand gtrs.So when ever I ordered one,I would get to choose what kind of bells and whistles come with it.Most of the time it doesnt cost much more than their original lefthand price{which is too damn much compared to righthand versions}.
I do everything right handed except play gtr.and shoot pool.Does that make me BI ?

Actually I am a left-hander playing right handed bass. I did it because I figured that I could pluck with my right hand and do all the fast stuff with my left... my good hand. I always just wonder why they call it right handed when all you do is strum with the right hand. Also whenever anyone starts guitar or bass they stink with both hands, so it doesn't really matter.
