Another video, a few less guitar changes (lol).....same basic type of edits. Still have lots to learn but it's fun...

Man... Hearing all these songs makes me wanna go play along with them again.

Video is awesome as well, dude.

Kudos.

(PS - I hate to say this, but the drums on this one are also a bit too far forward in the timeline... Move em' back 20-40ms and they'd be golden)

agreed about the drums. Good video. like the vocals a lot and you could be Clapton's brother. Strats rule. Good tune-age too.

Maybe a little less switching cameras and more angles, versus the two.

Good stuff.

Cool ido!

Having heard your music over the last 4 years or so, it is fun to see you playing along. The video and sound quality are great.

I think you would benefit from more camera angles to choose from if you were going to stick with in-the-studio footage. That, or the introduction of other, non-studio images.

I hope the videos keep on coming. I mean, ultimately it is about the music, but I think having any kind of watchable video on youtube is just another way to get your music heard. Probably more chance of people checking it out there than say, soundclick or something.

Nice work! :)

Cool bananas Gerry!
I can't tell with the small screen whether or not your face is visible though. There's nothing wrong with your mug so make sure you show it.
Maybe you'd better add some stock footage to antagonise Greg into commenting!!!
You've learnt to do this REALLY WELL.
What camera, editing software & form of audio did you use?

I'll nudge the drums on this and the other tune. Might be tough to line up the video again lol...

I'm using a Sony cyber shot camera that has 10MP reso and a movie mode. I can get about 45 minutes of video before it fills up. The audio starts out as a .wav file from Sonar but i'm not sure what Windows Media Video has converted it to when I combine/sync it with the video.
I fought with Windows Movie Maker for a few days - it doesn't work well with MP4 from the camera. Chili recommended Vegas but I could only find Corel and Pinnacle. I bought Pinnacle Video HD. I got the blue screen of death a bunch of times and black preview scree til I found the options checkbox that was causing the problem. So now I'm set to do basics and start learning some "tricks".

The low light is the basement lighting issue. I didn't open the shades and the preview screen on the camera was a lot brighter than the finished clip - some kind of enhancement in the camera I guess....

listening to this again, I really like the song and believe this has some killer potential. Don't ask me why, other than it is great to sing along with, your vocals are actually VERY good, especially if you like the Clapton style, etc...and the playing compliments all.

However, the drums are off and if this had killer production, it would be a hit out of the park.
It's easy to critique others, but for some reason, I sense this has the potential and we're just looking/seeing/hearing it in its' raw form.

A fantastic recording, GREAT mastering and a drop dead video, you'd retire from the proceeds....if that stuff still happens nowadays.. which unfortunately, I don't think it does with this kind of music.,.or any music for that matter.

this was worth checking out again.

btw... I'm using the cyper shot too and on its' lowest resolution because higher definition in Pinnacle makes my computer wimper. Those little cameras rock. I've gotten incredible still shots and you don't need light either for a good pic.

Hey that's a cool video. Do you play and sing while you're recording or just for the purpose of the video?

Everything sounds good. The timing is a bit off in some spots though. That's all.

I was playing and singing along with the master audio track.

Thanks for the compliments Matt!

I do notice that the audio and video are out of sync in YouTube, depending on the connection, resolution etc. There's probably some imperfect syncs but the original video is pretty close....

Coool stuff Ido, nice to see the guy behind the voice:cool:

my only nit is the drums being we bit out of time and, I'd like the vocals a tad more prominent in the mix:)

thanks for sharing:cool:

Thanks Nak - yeah I figured most people had seen me on Soundclick so a video wouldn't surprise them!

This has always been one of my favourite songs of yours Gerry, kind of Clapton meets ZZ Top, great rockin' tune. It's great to see you performing it. And since I dream of locking myself up forever in my studio, I totally dig the studio shots....;)
Yeah, fix those drums and push that great voice of yours up a bit and you've got a great piece of work here.:)

Agreed. just a nudge back in the pocket. Glad to see you've upgraded though! :)
