Lead Vocal-less Song

Couple of days ago I posted a quickie demo of a song I threw together in about 2 hours. It was sloppy as it was never intended to be a song, I just hit record and laid out a drum beat without caring, then later realizing I could build a song on it. No one paid attention to it, which is probably a good thing.

So I actually wrote out a structure for this song, laid out a new drum track and did bass, keys, and some background vocals on it. Its more a recording chop-builder than anything, there are some weird syncopation issues with the drumming here and there and the bass doesn't line up ALL the time, but its close enough for a good analysis.

Kinda a funky, classic rock vibe, with some sweet, random synths thrown in (can't play guitar so had to use something)

I really like the drum beat. The verse part is good, maybe just tweak the synth sounds (unless you were going for that 60's psychedelic sound). but be perfectly honest i dont really like the chorus. idunno, its just to 'major' for the rest of the song. and maybe change the synth sounds to be less nasally and 'harpsichord'y (definately not a word) in that part.
 
It'll be a lot easier once the vocals are there.

I like the keyboard sounds - but then I'm not a keyboard guy and can be quite un-particular on their sound.

Bass might be lacking a few lows, or might need to be turned up just a wee bit.

The synth that starts at around 0:10 however is awful, just my opinion. I think your organ could sound much better, I seem to be missing some midtones, it's pretty harsh sounding, no? The drums sound really good, great snare sound, lovely cymbals. It's very long for not having vocals though, and even with I doubt it'll stay interesting enough as is. I'd like to hear it though.
 
Okay, drums are good. Well, not surprised, they are my main instrument :P

Fix the organ a bit. I'm using a Hammond B3 emulator, so I'll just need to play with the drawbars some more. I've scooped a lot of the low end out of it to make room for the bass, so it makes sense to bring in mids. I'll work on that a bit.

I could play with the synth part a bit more, personally I like the tone, totally ELP early 70 sound right there. Could be off-putting to some.

I've been having problems with the bass guitar the most though.

I'll get a new version up maybe tomorrow.

EDIT: When I said there aren't lead vocals, there aren't any "yet". I don't have lyrics or a vocal melody written, nor do I plan on performing that myself. That's why there's a lot of "spaces" aside from the bridge and the synth solos. This should have regular vocals, and its arranged in a way where there should be some, but I don't know if I will ever get some for this demo.

This has a nice overall sound...I did hear the demo, but guess I didn't have much to say...sorry. This one is kind of long as is with just the elements you have so far.

I like the organ / synth sounds myself (it sounded like a brain salad surgery kind of synthy thing) although maybe you took a little too much of the bottom end off? Bass could use a little more fullness maybe too especially with this being so sparse.

Reminded me of deep purple around 2:00 or so.
 
Reworked the organ sound, turned off the "horn filter" on my Leslie vst, seemed to help add some beef to it. Also bumped up 300 hz on the bass a bit more since that seems to be where the meat of it is. So update :)

I think the organ sounds pretty sweet now. It seems like it lost some sort of almost grainy quality it had before...did you bring the level up on it to? Bass sounds pretty decent.
