hey, what do you think of the clean (Wah) and lead tone... not an amp you'd associate with this genre... listen for the guitar up the middle.

I just replaced all of the components in my Vintage Crybaby also...

I like. I would bring the leads down a lil' bit, maybe just a **** hair. The tone is nice. Nice groove. A B3 would be real cool - I would like some on my trax too. But even just a simple B3 sustained chords underneathe would be cool.

As someone who is trying to break into the film/TV market - I would capture more themes with the geetar - my inclination is to solo - but suprvisors want to hear thematic melodies repeating throughout. However this may not be your goal at all!

Sounds really good though - and I like the clean wah tone.

Nice work!

PS

I have a Vox wah that is beaten to shit and I can't use it as it picks up radio signals that overpower the signal. Any ideas on that?

Cheers.

Aaron, thanks for reply... and the suggestions...

I probably subconsciously placed the lead a tad higher for emphasis on the part.

As for the Wah... sometimes solder joints become weak and they create a hi-impedance point that allows for high frequency oscillations or radio pickup. If you have a solder station (not a solder gun) and soldering skills, reheat or resolder all of the solder joints. Another symptom is random poping and hissing/sputtering. If the resolder does not help, replace the electrolytic caps with like kind, and replace the other caps with polyprop caps... aged caps can become inductive and again create oscillations. While you're at it, replace the resistors with metal film resistors.

Thanks again,
-Keith-

I like hearing the lead up there too, being a lead player myself. Just depends what you are shooting for I guess.

Shit maybe it's time to replace my Vox, huh? I am not a handy type dude. All the rubber feet froze and broke into 15 pieces when I was touring across Canada - it was Saskatoon I believe. It got like -45 and the fuckers just exploded. So now I have screws in there and the radio blasting thru.

Thanks for the suggestions though! If I had any electronics type ability I'd be all over it. But I don't!

Cheers.

Looking forward to hearing more of your tunes - I'll keep an eye out.

I like the clean wah and the clean chinks. The lead sounds good but is a bit strong and clippy in a few places after the mid part of the tune, but thats probly just increased velocity as the buzz got bigger. :)

You mind if I pick a little keys on this?

Thanks Aaron... maybe get a friend to resolder the joints or take it to a TV repair dude... I've had this Crybaby since forever and really never played it because it sucked... so I decided to replace the parts and lower the upper reach... and WOW... now it's creamy and very smooth...

Thanks for the feedback... yeah I agree on the clippy/choppy... I think that's what I get when I do these early in the morning and without warming up as much as I should.

Go right ahead on the keys... that would be cool.
