Hey guys, I'm interested in buying a widescreen LCD monitor and I was wondering if anyone had some good word on any brands or models? My price range is around $400. I haven't been keeping up on monitors, so I hope someone has :p

Thanks.

Oh! And I want the resolution hi to be 1600x1200 (or whatever it is in widescreen dimensions)

My brother inlaw is head of the computer systems for a sch**l district and he seems to like the viewsonic brand for cheap/good. You may also check out Prinston for price. I have has a crt from them for several years with out problem wich is odd for any brand;)

:D Yo Semi:

For your "budget" you can get a fine LCD monitor. You might look at some at monitoroutlet.com.

I just bought one from them, a Viewsonic, as mentioned by Freud. Powered it up and haven't had to mess with it. Nice picture, clear, plenty bright and runs faster than the old LCD I gave to my kid brother.

The site has a variety of brands and a variety of prices. You won't need to spend your budget to get a good LCR.

Bought a couple of Samsung 22" widescreens at Thanksgiving for dirt cheap... only used them a little bit so far, but they looked great! FYI, the resolution is 1680x1050. Not quite as many pixels total as 1600x1200 (most high-end 19" regular monitors these days), but LOTS of desktop space. Wow.

Cool thanks, I actually ended up getting that same 22inch samsung...im happy with it but im not used to LCD...you can really tell a difference from a CRT. Either way I got a lot more space and I'm happy.
