I should be receiving my new Laptop Layla24 this evening. I plan on using it with Sonar 2.0 Does anyone have any pointers or suggestions for making all the necessary connections to make this a very portable setup? (Mainly looking for diagrams on how to best connect the Layla for recording more than one instrument at a time.) I have some outboard gear (i.e. patchbay, headphone dist. amp, eq, stereo compressor / limiter, etc...) I also use a Behringer 1602A mixer for drums and live instrument miking. If you guys or gals can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Please don't kill this topic/forum, I'm sure I'll be the biggest forum poster soon. ;>)

I'll give what I can!

I'm using the Layla for desktop......

I'm starting my chain like this.....

Stop me if you've heard it before!!!

Mic/Instrument--->Mixer--->To ins of Layla via direct outs of board--->to computer to record
l---> From outs of Layla into 2 inserts on board for monitoring

Hope that helps.....

As far as the actual connection, your Layla should come with the appropriate hookup.....it's a serial connection to the breakout box, but bigger than a standard serial (almost looks like a parrallel)

Good luck......I've had mine about a year and once I got the new drivers for XP, I haven't had to ask anything.......great card!
