I'm considering the L47 FET or L47MP MKll for voice over work. Has anybody had the opportunity to compare the sonic difference between the two? I know it can vary from voice to voice but I find user opinions are beneficial for the thought process.

I think you will get a better response over at gearslutz.com

Most of us home recordists will never use a Lawson or hear one in person.

I've got the Lawson L47MP MkII and I love it. I've been thinking about getting the 47 fet but haven't heard it yet. I reach for my Lawson over my U87 on vocals about 80% of the time.

I can tell you that Gene Lawson makes really good mics. You could always get one of the mics first and then get the body for the other one later (they have interchangeable heads).

What kind of pre are you going to be using?

Thanks for the comments. I've read so many good things about both mics and just when I think my mind is made up on the L47 I read very positive comments on the 47 FET which makes me continue my info search. I don't think I can go wrong with either one :) One of the two will be teamed up with a Symetrix 528E.
