I tried this on the computer recording forum with no luck...maybe some of yall here might be able to help.
I just installed a Lambda Lexicon audio interface on my computer but it does not seem to be compatible with my D-Link USB 2.0 PC card for my laptop. It detects it and all, but the sound itself skips and pops and becomes pure static every few seconds. After that happened, I plugged it into the USB 1 port installed on my laptop and lo and behold it was gone. I tried running the supplied Cubase software and that seems to work like a charm too. Would I be fine just using the USB 1 input or will I experience problems later? I tried playing along with a recorded track on Cubase and no latency issues were apparent at all. I was also told that an external hard drive with higher RPM would be a more important upgrade than the USB 2 port. Let me know, thanks!!

If you're recordings are coming out fine, I would think that it would work. Just remember though if you increase the amount of inputs, then you may start experiencing those problems. The thing is, I can't see how a USB 2 would cause those problems over a USB 1. It must be a bad card. Remember too that a faster hard drive will speed up a different part of your recording process. Also, remember that regardless of how fast you get things, you have to identify your bottleneck or getting faster parts will do nothing.

glad you got it working but seems way unlikely that would perform better with usb1.. driver issuses i guess.. or is something else on the bus as well stealing bandwidth??
