Does anyone know how to firstly, analyse latency on Cool Edit 2.0 and secondly, then correct this or better it?

Thanks in advance,

Lee

mmmmmmm.........maybe you're speaking of a soundcard's monitor latency? Or could you be talking about the amount of time it takes to hear sounds after you press play on CEP2.0.........or maybe u r talking about multiple tracks not synching properly to eachother......or maybe i just don't understand the question.
regards,....

Obstacle -

Record a track from zero. When you're done, zoom in on the beginning of the track. How big is the gap between 0.0000 and where the track begins? That's your latency.

Now make sure that track is all the way left to 0.0000. Drag it there if you have to. Now record a second track while listening to the first track. When you're done, zoom in on the beginning of the second track. How big is the gap this time? That's your latency when you're overdubbing.

Next, enable 'Correct For Drift' in Settings. Now, repeat the above procedures with new tracks. Did it help?

Superspit - Sorry for my mis-explanation... I'm speaking of my soundcards monitor latency... When pressing play the playback is instantanious - its more when im recording i am experiencing very slight, but noticeable latency.

Dobro - thanks for this - Yes it did work, when i read ur suggestion, it seemed so simple. ha.

Muchly appreciated advice.

Did 'Correct for Drift' solve the problem?

Also, do you/did you have 'Correct for Start Synch' enabled?
