Latency Problem

Im using cubase SX and was having problems before which i attributed to on board sound but since im having the same problems with my delta 44 i asuume the problem is elsewhere.

Sometimes right away, and always after a while recording, say2-3 tracks worth at best i start getting synch problems. What happens is a record a part whilst listening back to say a drum track, then when i play it back the part i've recorded is out of synch with the part or parts ive previously recorded.

I just noticed in my project settings its set to 32bit floating, i realise this should be at 24 or probably 16 but should this be causing a problem?

I would say it could be, yes. But what did you say your latency was?

You've selected the delta ASIO driver?
Witha decen driver on a decent machine, latency is usually a matter of adjsuting the buffers or checking on diret monitoring.

Drifting out of sync or a steady number of samples out of sync? Software monitoring or direct monitoring. Use diect monitoring. The 32 bit float is different from the soundcard communication setting, and they don't need to be the same.
