right so i have an hp laptop with vista, and i just got cubase 5, and got it to work. so i have some nice microphones and a mixing desk, but what do i need to connect them now. what soundcard should i get? and is there anything else i need, what would be the best thing to do so that i can record with good sound? cheers

HI there,

How many channels you want to record simultaneously? And what mixer model you have?

Cheerz!

ive got a soundcraft mixer, twelve channels. and i wanna be able to record singing and guitar and bass at once, so maybe 4 mic channels. or maybe i just need two, would a firebox be good then?

Which Soundcraft mixer do you have? The thing about most of the firewire/usb interfaces is that they have preamps built in, so, even the Soundcraft makes a fantastic mixer, you wouldn't really *need* it with the Firebox... but you could still use it to run the 2 line level inputs on the back of the Firebox. That would give you 4 simultaneous ins.

Do you plan to record drums at all?
