I'm thinking of getting a laptop but I havn't decided if I should get a windows xp partitioned with some linux version or a g4 powerbook

I want to do other things than just recording music so i'm opting for a windows xp with linux partitioned since I have a pc already. I don't want compatibily problems such as buying a new printer to print my homework that I typed on a mac...

But I'm not familiar with linux or its recording programs. Although, I'm familiar with Logic pro on mac. I've always been told a mac is better for recording but after reading some articles I'm not sure thats the truth rather than opinion.

Anyways let me know what you think.
Thanks for your time

Just so you know, Just about anything you can do in Win XP pro you can do in a G4. Although when you want to port a file to your desktop it's a little easier with a laptop running XP pro. I would suggest that if you are going to buy a WIN XP laptop spend a few dollars extra and get the XP pro system. It works with everything that I hsve thrown at it. Even some 25 year old programs from when I started building computers. One more suggestion get at least 512meg of ram before you bring it home.
