Hi everybody. I'm new to this forum but i'd like to dive in immediately: i'm currently considering upgrading my recording setup. I use it to record practice sessions with the bands i'm in (i play bassguitar), but also to make studio recordings. Former requires a lot of inputs/tracks to record simultaneously, latter, well.. the best quality i can get (budget is a slight issue).
I currently use a Yamaha AW1600 for this. It's a really great machine but it lacks inputs- i need 12 to 16 simultaneous and it has only 8.
My wish list is currently the Tascam US1641, with a ART s8 to split the mic signals (for live recording). In addition I need a laptop/notebook to record with (using Cubase 4 Studio for that).
Questions:
- Will this setup be sufficient?
- Any tips on the requirements for the laptop?
Thanks a bunch for your help!
