la-610 static ith a condensor mic

Hey all,


I just got a UA la-610 and I am getting a lot of static with an at4040 mic. When I tried a sm58, it sounded perfect with no noise at all. I took the 4040 straight into the recorder and it was fine. I tried 2 different cables and moved the cables away from everything electrical but it didn't help. Anyone ever have this kind of problem? Thanks

Phantom Power...

Hey MOFO,
Thanks for looking at this.The pre has phantom power on it. I had it on with the condenser and off with the dynamic. I checked the power with a voltmeter and it read 47.6. I'm trying to find another condenser to bum so I can see if it is just my mic or all. Thanks
