hey guys i wanted to buy this keyboard but i dunno if the sounds it has will be good for techno/dance music production...anybody has any sample sounds from that keyboard i could see how it sounds and stuff? thank YOU!!!!!! =o)

I love that keyboard but it's probably more suited for pop/rock/classical. At least with the factory sounds.

Maybe somebody can prove me wrong.

i have looked at big TECHNO musicians and mostly they all have it or the newer versio 2500...So i was thinking to check the sounds and maybe buy it cause i saw used ones in price range of $500-800...thanks

It does sample playback so you could do anything with it if you can get the sounds. The stock sounds aren't very techno as I recall. They have some pretty cool filter effects in the 2500 but I'm not sure about the 2000.

hmmm.. the kurzweil k2000 could prolly make anything you want once fully expanded... ok, perhaps the percussion sounds are a bit too tame for techno, but that's what you got the sampler for, right? If you can get it for 500-600$, i say go for it! That's cheaper than my supernova...

but... you'll prolly never be able to make really phatt synthlines on it untill you get a virtual analogue synth.. so if you wanna make trance, then you should be looking at a waldorf Q or a novation supernova... (or similar, i'm just mentioning the top line)

The k2000 does far more than play back samples.
It has 24 voices, each voice can have one sampled waveform and 3 dsp generated oscilators.
It has extensive modulation capabilities and dsp tools for mangling and creating wonderfully expressive sounds.
It would work quite well for electronic music, especially combined with a "VA" styled synth such as clavia's nord modular, or the Novation nova.
If you have the 's' version you can make your own samples, but the standard version can load samples from cd's or off your computer, so its all good.
Im about to get one, or a k2500 very soon. What more can I say?

Hey guys.

I have a K-2000. I have owned it since August of 1999. I likes some of the stock sounds, but what I was most disturbed about was Kurtzweil's whole "Packageing."

The Keyboard (if you are not a rocket scientist) comes with a worthless how to video that is so slow, robotic and over the top non musician explanations on very complicated stuff.

The 2 hudge manuals that come with it are not much help ither!

All of these years I have scrolled thru the damn thing , had liked the stock analog synth stuff, but when I had the Orchestral rom installed, they took out the original sounds. That was a complete surprise, for I thought thw whole point of installing the rom was to expand the exsisting sounds?

Where could I find out how to make the beat creative use of this wonderous keyboard. I am a Dyslexic musician and dont have the mind set for all the tech nonsense.

I want to fina a sound, go into the edit mode and tweak to my delight.

Any information as to how to acomplish this would be greatly apreciated!

Cheers,

Mad John
