Well, these are the two that I've narrowed the selection down to. Prices are $900 Cdn for the KRK's and $750 for the Yorkvilles. I've listened to both with my CDs but, honestly, I'm really not trained enough to hear the subtle differences that may exist.

So, I'll draw on the extensive knowledge of y'all. Any opinions are appreciated.

I'm under the impression that the Yorkvilles are better. But i think someone like Blue Bear or one of the other vets would be in a better position to answer that. Blue bear uses the V8's so im' guessing he listened to the v4's, plus he praises the yorkvilles as far as i can remember.

I am guessing that the KRK's are a better speaker, but much lighter in the low end than the Yorkies... but I would at least listen to both before buying either.

personally i wouldn't want anything lighter in the low end than the yorkvilles. this is a 6" speaker we're talking about...

What makes you say that the KRK's would be better? Everything i've heard would lead me to believe the exact opposite.

I have a pair of Yorkville's and I think they are pretty amazing...they do not lack low end.

I haven't heard the KRK's but the Yorkies are rockin'.

I also have a pair of Yorkville's and I agree with you completely. They are a really really great set of speakers and they don't lack low end. However, I do think that anything LESS is the low-end department could cause some difficulties mixing bass.
