Hey all - 2nd posting ever here... lovin the site though.

I have a korg x5d - what do you guys think about it as a controller to use in computer recording? Is it a dinky toy or decent enough to get by on?

Fill me in on what you think...

It has a cheap crappy keybed that doesn't feel good at all with no aftertouch. The sound engine is terrible also - cheap DACs. Go buy a used M1 or T3 instead. Thats what I did - sold the X5d and got a M1r for $250.

He already owns the X5.

Its fine. Unless you are a pianist or need fancy stuff it will work just dandy.

I have one and I like it. The keys aren't weighted and some of the sounds are dated, but it's worked where I've needed it.
