There is another battle for the top workstation, which one do you think is the better workstation for Rap and R&B, the TRITON or the MOTIF, and WHY?

Fantom kicks the kurzweil out the water.

And it STILL costs less.

The fantom is a goddamn Rompler. I.e, if you wanna manipulate some vocals or use your own sounds, fugehddaboutit.
The Tritons preset samples are weak and the sampler isn't very cool.
The motif is far more powerfull than any of the mentioned. Up to 64 mb ram, the best hardware sequencer out there and expansion slots for FM and AWM synthesis.
It's basically a smack arse piece and the preset sounds are way better than those on both the triton and the fantom.. (imo)

To answer Mastermindzz original question, I feel the triton is better for hip-hop and r&b. But you should check them both out and see which one YOU like best.

The Motif sounds better than the Triton hands down. Listen to both with no effects on theres no question. The sampler on the Motif is bananas for killing loops.

MOOOOOTIIIIIIIFFFFFF

Can't think i'll ever get used to people saying "the sounds on the triton kicks arse!" cause I really think they're lame and flat. Motif all the way for workstation purposes

AS a WORKSTATION the Motif doesn't cut it. The sequencer is crap. I just hope they make a Motif rack, coz I agree the sounds are incredible.

Motif sequencer works well for me, it takes a little getting used to. But I can do just about anything I think of.
