Korg Triton and Pro Tools Need Help with Midi

I have a Korg Triton and recently got an Mbox 2 with Pro Tools 7 LE. I got the devices talking to each other, but have 2 main problems.

1) How do you get different midi instruments for different tracks? If I have acoustic piano for midi track one which is being pulled from the Korg, how do I get a midi bass noise on Midi track 2 to come from the keyboard?

2) When I look up the midi patch names it displays the correct instrument names for each bank (noisy stabber, acoustic piano, etc.), however when I select them it only pulls the sounds from bank G, which is a completely different sound.

Thanks

First question: You need to set up in either Combi mode (8 channels) or in Sequencer mode (16 channels) You then open up tracks on different channels.

The second question - the korg by default is set to use the General Midi sound set.

Go to Global mode, find System Preference/Bank Map, set that to Korg, it
defaults to GM, that's why you can't get out of Bank G.

Thanks for your help. I never would have figured that out. I can't believe that I have midi now. Thanks again.

Matt
