Forgive my ignorance, but can you manage your music (like, individual tracks) recorded from the Korg D32XD on a program lik Cubase...I just want to be able to look at each track in a song I record and be able to edit and manipulate them efficiently on Cubase?

If so, how much control will I have over it...I am affraid that if I buy Cubase, that i will not get what I am looking for because all that I hear about these kind of programs is how to make MIDI dance music...I really don't need all of that

I just want to be able to produce and present my music in a post-recorded fashion after I complete my preliminary editing on the Korg D32XD...

any comments or suggestions would be VERY useful,

thanks

Yep. That's the whole idea. You can do audio in Cubase. A lot of people do use it for dance music, but just as many (if not tons more) use it for audio.

I'm not exactly sure about what you are trying to do, but you can export the tracks out of the D32XD and import them into the Cubase project. Edit and mix from there. If you want do dump the tracks back into the Korg, I believe you can bounce each track to wav files and then import back into the Korg. I believe that the Korg uses a USB 1 port and is very slow. Just copying the tracks to the PC partition can take a while. I think I spent an entire day backing up 16gigs once. I was doing that 2gigs at a time though before upgrading the OS.

Just remember, Cubase will certainyl do all the stuff your Korg will. Times 10 new less. There will be a bit of a learning curve to make the switch, but if you make it through that you will wonder how you ever used anything else. You will also need some sort of soundcard setup that will allow you all the inputs and outputs that you need, vbut then you will be off and running. I highly reccomend you go out and get the book Cubase SX power. It is written in such a way that even beginners can learn to use Cubase SX, but also has a lot of good reccomendation for the old pro's as well;)
