And let's keep in mind that for example Lt.Bob might have fever noise issues since he isn't playing High-gain Metal... I mean, clean sounds tend to have less noise issues than heavily distorted sounds.

If you're about to get a powersource to Metal, you might wanna try it out in a High-gain-chorus-echo-supersolo-lead-phaser enviroment.:D

Actually, I had the most issues when I was using clean sounds. Mucho hiss and hum in the background from my chorus and delay pedals when they were plugged into that thing. I didn't use any pedals for high gain stuff, but if I did and they had noise I probably wouldn't have noticed. :D

A valid point. Although I do use a lot of distortion, it all tends to be classic rock or bluesy type sounds .....
Haven't used any hi-gain since Baton Rouge when I did play in a band doing some alt-rock stuff. Used the 1-spot then and still didn't have any issues but nevertheless that is a good point to make.
Everyone's advice comes in the context of the type of music they play and thus, their experience with any piece of gear may or may not apply to someone elses' needs.

I have a pair of the 1Spots and use them all the time for recording. Very little noise.
i too use a 1-spot and i use it for both gigging and recording. no noise what so ever.

i use it to power a Visual Sound H2O, Jekyll and Hyde, Boss TU2 and a CS2. never a problem.

i DID have a problem using it to power an EH Holy Grail--noisy as all hell. But then again, the Holy Grail was the problem, not the 1-spot.

cheers,
wade
