Kind of a pop/rock thing...

A Musical intro before the onset of the vocal would be cool...
Sounds rushed as is............

rhythmn guit is low in the mix......no balls..

drums are well programmed but lack balls ....needs a punch on the kick and some separation on the stick...I hear no cymbals at all...where did they go?

that's right...I said balls..

no ooomph...sort of flat to the ear...

lead guit is steller........

lyrics are not that great....sorry...pop music sucks period but pop lyrics suck the most.

the hook is not that strong man .......

I can't tell you how many times I have been sorry in my life....

Vox is very good...you auto-tuned your vox though...I hear remnants in the mix...aint bad though...damn decent actually...

a little overplayed for my ears...
But, I am sure that TAXI said.."hey!...write us some of this.."

great performance all around...

yup....
that's about it........

Hee hee...you're funny...
I see you edited your post...what happened?...did the drugs wear off? (I'll edit that)
Crashes come through fine on my end...
Drums also seem to have plenty of punch...
kick has a parametric eq and drums mix has PSP Vintage warmer patched in...also multi band compression on final mix...
maybe you have pie in your ears?...(I'll edit that out later)
Oh well...I've had lots of people say the hook is very strong...
Everyone's opinion is valid though...thanks for yours...

busted...:D

yeah..RLD...I was a little wasted last night...
Just ignore my comments man...shouldn't be difficult for you.
Take it easy,
Joe

Joe knows his stuff, wasted or not (I like Joe)

I can't hear the cymbals either. And I hate cymbals, I'm an anti cymbal Nazi. Vocals are mixed too high. (And I normally complain vox are too quiet). The multi band compression on this has had some unintended consequences, I think.

Cool song, lost it's way a little moving into the first chorus. Cool playing, a bit of tweaking with the melody would get you a hook from what you've got.

Listened to this lo-fi ...my opinion:overall, above average for songs I've heard here...vocals and lyrics are good (nothing stuck out to me saying "that's just wrong")...bass is unique, I usually like a distinct bass, this was like a wall of bass behind the rest of the music, interesting...lead guitar: very, very, good, but a little loud for the mix and really outshines the rhythm part (guitar?) and drums (drums just seem weak in comparison to the vocal and bass, the snare especially, and probably more prominent hi-hat cymbals would help percussion also, I can't hear any hi-hats either)

Hey Mawtangent,
Personally, I could not judge a mix listening to a lo-fi file.
I just tried it and it really sounds like shit, nothing like the hi-fi.
Pretty much like you described it.
I realize you may not be able to access the hi-fi, but give it a listen if you can...;)
Thanks,
RLD

Does sound 100% better on hi-fi, especially the guitars panned left and right...can hear the hi-hats (toward the right side of the stereo field)...makes me think of the Bay City Rollers...

Hey man,

I really like the way the harmony is done, mixed very well. The panned guitars are excellent, the chorus has a great hook. Only small nitpick would be the actual "Sorry" line sounds a bit strained at times when you say it, I find it weird because it's the song's title I think. Still a great tune, you have a talent for sure.

Thanks Lynx,
I don't think I'm straining...just trying to give it a little edge...;)

lol it sounds like the drew carrey theme song, pretty good nonetheless

I think the mix sounds great. I really like the guitars and the vocals.

Nothing wrong with this tune ..

I like the tune too... only a couple things (ok - 4 things) that bother me..

1) It seems everytime there is a cymbal hit, its the same LARGE crash cymbal sound... kind of too large and china-crash like for this song

2) In the chorus you must have cut and paste the vocal, as everytime you start the first "sorry" there is a pitch correction warble.

3) Chorus could use something a little more to beef it up... too much of that clean palm muted guitar sound makes me think I'm listening to 38-special.

4) Solo is tasty... I like the lines... but I was waiting for you to rip out a line at the end of it or something... it was like it ALMOST took off.

Otherwise good tune... very clean and well put together.

Thanks everyone...
Velvet,
I'm not trying to argue with you...just thought I'd mention...
The cymbal hits are not the same every time...I think there are 3 different crashes and they are panned differently.
There are 2 different choruses, and I don't hear a warble on any of them.
There is no muted palm git in the chorus...
Sure, I could have ended the solo with a flurry of notes, but I chose not to do the cliché fast solo and instead tried to keep it melodic and interesting.
Thanks for your comments.

RLD...

No problem... it might not be palm muted, but you knew what I meant... its the cleaned compressed guitar that is there throughout most of the song.

There truly is a vocal warble right on one note at the start of the choruses.... I will mark times when I have a chance to listen again and tell you where they are at.

cool about the solo... it was just my opinion that it start to wander a little since it doesn't really build.

But as I said.. cool song none the less.
