hi. i'm recording drums in my home into Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 through a Gadget Labs Wave/496 from a Mackie 1402vlzPro. i have an old TEAC small condenser i use on the hats, a Rode NT1 for overhead (no stereo), and 3 sm57's (snare, both toms). but i don't know if i want an AKGd112 or an ATM25. i want it to be punchy, which the kick already is. not necessarily tons of low end, but something that will cut through the mix. what experience have you had with either of these mics? i'm only 16, so the atm25 is cheaper, but is it better? or is there someother mic you guys think works good?

thanks>>>michael

ATM25

Do a search on the forum for both of those mics...many people say the D112 is more muddy. Recording Engineer (the moderator) prefers the ATM25. Hell, if it's cheaper and he likes it, get it. That's what I'm going for.

I just bought the PRO25.
because the Freq. graphic in the AT homepage.

and because its cheaper...:D
if you got the money, go for the ATM over the pro,
but the pro makes the work very well too.
