I posted this once before...long time a go but never got a response.

I understand that it's possible to use a midi device to press "Play" or "record" so that you don't have to grab the mouse between takes. Anyone doing this?

I can't seem to get it down. Using a Triton LE88 for midi and synth. Sure would like to get this down.

Thanks

I bound an octave's worth of keys on my Oxygen-8 controller and used the keybindings command to map them to play, record, FF, etc.

Q.

Thanks for the reply Qwerty,

I've been playing around with that with no success so far. I see the menu and the choices...select MIDI...select a key or notes then bind to the function but nothing happens. I also made sure to check "enable".

Any ideas?

Have you recorded midi sucessfully?
Cables hooked up correctly?
Midi devices chosen correctly and enabled?
Transmitting/recieving on the same midi channel?
Have you checked the keybindings dialog box to see if everything is set right?

There is a key which operates like a SHIFT function. To get any mapped key to respond you need to hit whichever key is mapped to the SHIFT function AND the play/record or whatever option.

Thanks again Acid and to you Qwerty...

I do have midi record...in and out...I've got number of midi devices and I'm able to send messages out. I'm certain that messages are coming in (by the virtue of MIDI record). I'm not sure what you meant by the "Shift" function there Qwerty.

You need to hold two keys, one the shift key,two the command or "bound" key.
The same as if you wanted to pick an exclamation mark over a 1 on your computer keyboard.
