Hey. I'm thinking about setting up a home recording studio (probably NOT the computer-based set up since i'm not really a comp wiz).. I'll probably go for more live-set up/some MIDI sequencing... In this setting, do I need to buy a separate Keyboard Amplifier if the board doesn't have built-in speakers? I'm thinking about buying Motif 7.. Can't I just plug it into my powered Speaker (which has amp built in)? just curious... THanks!

You can plug it into anything that's amplified. Keyboard amp, sound system, pa system, etc.

If you're thinking keyboard amps, check out the ones from Roland.

If you are using one keyboard, then a keyboard amp is fine. But if you are going to be using a mixer, maybe outboard fx boxes, and get more of studio going, then you need a pair of monitors.

As far as keyboard amps, I also like the Roland amps. I have a KC-300 that works great. The new version of that amp is the KC-350 and also sounds great.
