Key Change

Hi Everybody!

I am looking for some advice on how to write a good key change in a song, something simillar to the change in "My Girl",dramatic and lengthy. Any advice will do
 
One method that works well is to change to a related key. For instance, change to G if the song is in C. This way you can have a smooth transition into and out of the change.
 
That definately helps, I'll play around in C and C what I can come up with. I guess the learned skill is getting from one ponit to the other smoothly. Thanks
